Former footballer Luís Cazengue “Luizinho” was appointed this Tuesday in an ordinary commission to the position of Director of the 11 de Novembro Stadium, in Luanda, by the Minister of Youth and Sports.
According to an order published by Angop, the holder, Ana Paula do Sacramento Neto, puts an end to the functions of the then property management committee, led by Joaquim Cafuchi.
Built in 2010 on the occasion of CAN, 11 de Novembro has a capacity for 50 thousand spectators, being the largest “king” sports infrastructure built in the country.
49 years old, Luizinho stood out at Petro de Luanda, having won the national championship on five occasions (1986 – 1990).
Before the end of his career at Toronto Supra in Canada, he had spells at Portuguese clubs such as SC Braga, CD Fátima, Académica de Viseu and FC Oliveira do Hospital.
With a degree in Communication Science and also a specialist in sports management, the former striker was for eight years manager of the Manuel Berenguel sports complex, at Rádio Nacional de Angola (RNA).
In another order, the minister appointed Teresa João Ulundo to serve as Director of the Sports Gallery in an ordinary service commission, replacing João Dias Pereira.
Teresa Ulundo, 47 years old, was handball director at Progresso Associação do Sambizanga. She participated in the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, Australia.
The property now under his management was inaugurated in 2014 with the aim of preserving the sporting heritage collection before and after national independence achieved in 1975.
