In Lucknow, the host team won the toss and batted first. Their innings came to a standstill with 58 runs from captain Lokesh Rahul’s 33 and Marcus Stoinis’ 43 balls. Stoinis’ innings had 4 fours and 2 sixes. Moreover, Nicholas Puran remained unbeaten on 32 runs off 22 balls. Ayush Badoni’s cameo innings of 20 off 11 balls also contributed. Lucknow collected 163 runs for 5 wickets. Darshan Nalkande took two wickets for 21 runs for Gujarat. Umesh Yadav also took two for 22 runs.
In reply, Lucknow’s bowlers put Gujarat in jeopardy by restricting runs and creating pressure. At the beginning in the right direction but later lost eight wickets for 48 runs! Notable innings are opener Sai Sudarshan’s 31, Shubman Gill’s 19 and Rahul Tewatia’s 30. The team finally stopped at 130 runs in 18.5 overs.
Yash Thakur was the best bowler with 5 wickets for 30 runs. He was also man of the match due to his great bowling impact. Krunal Pandya took 3 for 11 runs. Moreover Naveen Ul Haque and Ravi Bishnoi took one each.
