LR Teschl-Hofmeister/LR Schleritzko: We want to leave no stone unturned in the competition for the best employees
St.Pölten (OTS) – The Lower Austrian State Health Agency (LGA), with its 28,000 employees, is one of the largest healthcare providers in Austria. An important aspect as an employer is the compatibility of family and work. Measures such as roster stability and childcare have now led to the NÖ LGA and its locations being certified as a “family-friendly company”.
“We are pleased that the NÖ LGA’s efforts on the issue of balancing family and work have been recognized and so visible. This makes it clear how important and valuable it is to offer employees family-friendly working conditions and to create the best possible conditions for their everyday work. Because one thing is clear: our staff makes an enormous contribution to the daily health and care provision in Lower Austria and provides patients and residents with expertise and personal commitment. For this they deserve our greatest respect and thanks,” say State Councilor Ludwig Schleritzko, who is responsible for the state clinics, and State Councilor Christiane Teschl-Hofmeister, who is responsible for the nursing and care centers.
More and more studies show that the compatibility of family and work increases the satisfaction of employees. The topic of family and work was also an important aspect for employees in the NÖ LGA’s internal employee survey, so that numerous measures could be taken and framework conditions created with a view to family-friendliness. “The Lower Austrian State Health Agency offers a lot for its employees. “It’s often small things and in the end both people benefit from it – the employer as well as the employee,” says Konrad Kogler, board member of the Lower Austrian State Health Agency.
An important sign of more family-friendliness for employees are the twelve company childcare facilities at the clinic locations – such as the one at the St. Pölten University Hospital, which currently has 110 childcare places for children aged one to six. The feedback from parents is impressive: for example, the childcare facility in the LK Amstetten received excellent feedback and a top rating in a recent survey.
Another major concern is roster stability: The main thing here is that employees can rely on the planning of their shifts and do not have to adapt to short-term changes. All the efforts of the Lower Austrian State Health Agency have been confirmed by the state basic certificate “berufundfamilie” and it can now identify itself as a family-friendly employer with its locations.
