The artist will return to his department of origin, Antioquia, to give two concerts.
The Colombian singer-songwriter Juanes wants to speak in the “language of love” on his return to Medellín, where he recharges with the energy of its mountains on the eve of the two concerts he will give with the band Morat, which he anticipates will be the “best show » in the history of his career.
Now that he feels fulfilled, without pressure and with the freedom to make the music he likes, the singer of “Nada valgo sin tu amor” and “Fotografía” closes a “very special” year singing his hits and several songs from his album “Origin” at the Atanasio Girardot stadium, where he was last in 2007 to see Argentine star Diego Maradona play in an exhibition match.
«It is a dream for me to be here. It is my city, the place where I was born, where I grew up. I walked all these streets over and over again. And being here in December with Morat, at the Atanasio Girardot stadium, is too much,” says the Colombian artist in an interview with EFE.

After successful tours through Europe and Latin America with “Origen Tour”, Juanes (Medellín, 1972) hopes that his people will give “life” to his songs by singing live again after four years of waiting and going through reflections with the pause due to the pandemic.
“I believe that my body travels all over the world, but my soul and my heart are always here,” he says when he is home to perform this Saturday and Sunday night before some 40,000 people in a very particular moment of his career.
And to do so, he prepares the phrases that are only understood in his city, because he enjoys using “the language we speak here,” but at the same time the singer points out: “The truth is that love is the language I want to speak with now, the language of songs.
And to get into that harmony, he has Morat as his teammates, a group with which he shares the bill for the first time and with which he released the single “506” in September after having already made a first collaboration in 2017, “Kisses in War.”
This successful Colombian pop group, he confesses, “inspires” him. He perceives its members as an “incredible example” because they evoke the bands of yesteryear, compose their songs and play their instruments.
Free and without chasing trends
In times of balance, Juanes chooses to stick with the recording of his new album as the highlight of 2022, despite the fact that he has not yet released it and has only given it a first taste with “Amores prohibited”, a rock cumbia unveiled a month ago.
«It could be the best album of my career, without a doubt. I think it has another level in composition and execution. “That makes me very happy,” said the singer-songwriter, who will release that album in the first half of next year.
That free time that the pandemic suddenly gave him, he took advantage of to study and compose “very calmly”, which is why he is not afraid to say that he has “a brutal album”, built in a very special stage, upon reaching half a century of age. and be in another creative sensibility.
“I am very happy not to have any pressure from anything, but simply to make the music that I like, on my terms, in my time,” says the Colombian artist.
Juanes adds: in the midst of that freedom “I stopped thinking that I had to pursue some trend or something, I simply said ‘I’m going to make the music I want and that’s it’; That’s what the public will notice “from the beginning” in his new album.
