7 million euros are waiting, but that’s not the only interesting number
Vienna (OTS) – Around 7 million euros, that is the amount that can be won with the “six correct” lottery on Sunday “6 out of 45”. After a wait of almost a year (most recently at the beginning of June 2023), the time has come again: it’s about a six-fold jackpot. And it will also attract many casual bettors and “jackpot hunters” to the scene.
The Austrian Lotteries are expecting around 5.5 million tips on around 1.2 million betting slips by the deadline on Sunday at 7 p.m., and these expectations will increase the six-way prize total to 7 million euros.
Experience shows that almost 50 percent of all possible betting combinations are played with these 5.5 million tips, and therefore the probability of one (or more) sixes is about the same as of a seven-fold jackpot (of which there have been three so far).
15 winners from seven federal states
There have been eleven six-fold jackpots in the history of the lottery so far, and there have been everything from zero to three sixes. A total of 15 sixes worth between 2.4 million and 9.2 million euros were scored by game participants from seven federal states:
– The six-fold jackpot became a seven-fold jackpot three times;
– There was a solo six three times:
9.2 million euros in Upper Austria, 7.7 million euros in Lower Austria and 7.3 million euros in Styria;
– There were two sixes three times:
6.1 million euros each in Lower Austria and Styria; 5.1 million euros each twice in Vienna; 5.0 million euros each twice in Lower Austria;
– There were three sixes twice
3.1 million euros each in Salzburg, Burgenland and Styria; 2.4 million euros each in Upper Austria, Lower Austria and Tyrol.
Even and low numbers come out on top
Eleven six-fold jackpots have been played so far, meaning 66 numbers have been drawn, and it was noticed that:
– 38 even and 28 odd numbers were drawn, even though there was one more odd number in the betting field;
– 35 were drawn from the first (1-22) and 27 from the second (24-45) half of numbers; 23 came four times. Together with 28, 23 is the number that was drawn most often in six-fold jackpots.
The quick tip is ahead
The question of whether you are more likely to win with a quick tip, a normal ticket or a system ticket can be answered clearly: It doesn’t matter. What matters is not the type of tip, but the number of tips. With a single tip, the probability of winning six is around 1:8 million, and a second tip doubles the chance to 1:4 million. And so forth.
Experience has shown that when it comes to large jackpots, the quick tip comes out on top with a share of 60 percent of the total betting volume, 35 percent goes to the normal ticket and 5 percent to the system ticket. When it comes to sixes, the dominance of the quick tip is even clearer: eleven of the total 15 sixes for six-fold jackpots were achieved with quick tips, two with normal tickets and two with system tickets.
