The Lomas Chamber of Commerce offers its facilities for vaccination operation
The Municipality is carrying out a vaccination operation to strengthen the immunization of residents at the Lomas Chamber of Commerce facilities. The initiative will take place on Monday and Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Calle Acevedo 48. Medical professionals will be on site to administer doses of flu for risk groups, coronavirus vaccine and to make sure that children have their National Calendar complete. The vaccine will be given on a first-come, first-served basis, and residents need to bring their ID along with a vaccination booklet.
The Lomas Chamber of Commerce lends a helping hand in vaccination
Antonio Venezia, the Secretary of the Chamber of Commerce, has stated that this is the first time the vaccination operation is being held at their headquarters. The sessions will take place in the main room on the ground floor and help promote better health for residents.
“The vaccination operation is a crucial step to keeping everyone in the community healthy,” said Venezia.
Importance of annual vaccinations
As winter approaches, the circulation of respiratory viruses increases. That is why medical professionals recommend having vaccination schedules up to date. Those over the age of 50, people with immunocompromised health and pregnant people should receive a booster against Coronavirus if 6 months have passed since the last dose applied. For those under 50 years of age without comorbidities, an annual application of the vaccine is recommended.
The flu vaccine is intended for children from 6 months to 2 years of age, pregnant people, postpartum women who have not been vaccinated during pregnancy (up to 10 days after discharge from the maternity hospital), people from 2 to 64 years of age with factors at risk and people at risk of exposure to sick birds.
Simultaneous doses
The doses against COVID-19 and flu can be applied simultaneously and even with other vaccines on the National Calendar. Keeping vaccination schedules updated ensures better health for all and helps fight preventable diseases.
