From July 25 to 28, the former Bernardo Valdivieso Coliseum will host the National Rhythmic Gymnastics Championship, in which 140 athletes from the provinces of Manabí, Ambato, El Oro, Guayas, Pichincha, Azuay and Loja will participate, the latter as host.
María José Torres, technical commissioner of the Ecuadorian Gymnastics Federation and vice president of the Loja Gymnastics Sports Association, explains that there are two categories: novices, from 4 to 18 years old, and advanced, where there are athletes who are preparing to join national teams.
For advanced category gymnasts, this event is not only a requirement to participate in the South American Championship, but also serves as a qualifier for the Senior Category Open Cup in Chile.
Those who wish to learn more about this sport can attend the event at the aforementioned location, with an entrance fee of USD 3. (D)
