Jorge Reyes, director in charge, mentioned that MASS began to be structured in 2021. On November 15 of that year, the founding document was signed, then they formally presented the request to the Provincial Delegation of the CNE, where they were guided on what they were. the necessary documents and were given the signature forms.
“Approximately 14,700 signatures were collected, the same ones that followed the normal course in Quito and were approved, because they had tripled the necessary percentage of around 3,000; However, despite having everything completed, at that time, the registration was rejected,” he said.
After appealing to the Contentious Electoral Court, and not getting the claim approved; They insisted again and on March 23, 2023, they presented the rectification and solutions requested by the electoral entity. Now, a year later, on May 23, 2024, the move was finally approved unanimously.

He added that, “many citizens do not find representation at the national level, for example, there are political parties whose political behavior does not suit us and the same provincial organizations, so MASS will serve for broad participation of these groups, which we think from Loja,” he stated. .
Being a cantonal movement, they cannot register candidates at the provincial level, but they do not rule out talking to people they believe are appropriate to support a candidacy for the assembly or a presidential binomial. (YO)
