Logistics platforms seek rural development in the country

News from Angola – The Consultation Council of the National Network of Logistics Platforms (RNPL), an advisory body to the Angolan Cargo and Logistics Certification Regulatory Agency (ARCCLA), held on Monday, in Luanda.

The objective of its Third Ordinary Meeting was to conclude the multisectoral document on the development of rural logistics in the country.

According to the document that Notícias de Angola had access to today, at the meeting, chaired by the President of the RNPL Concertation Council, Catarino Fontes Pereira, members were informed about the status of work relating to the Integrated Rural Logistics Development System ( SIDLRA).

During the discussion, the need for representatives of the Ministerial Departments that make up the Technical Group responsible for completing this work to make additional efforts was highlighted in order to present their contributions to produce a document that reflects the multisectoral vision of SIDLRA.

The RNPL Concertation Council Meeting had the following items as its agenda: Reading of the minutes of the 5th Meeting of the RNPL Concertation Council (3rd Extraordinary Meeting), held on April 6, 2022; Status of work relating to the Integrated Rural Logistics Development System in Angola (SILDRA); Results of the studies (Master Plan and Feasibility Study) for the implementation of the Caála Logistics Platform, in the Province of Huambo; Results of studies (Master Plan and Feasibility Study) for the implementation of the Arimba Logistics Platform, in the Province of Huíla; Results of studies (Master Plan and Feasibility Study) for the implementation of the Lombe Logistics Platform, in the Province of Malanje; and status of the Tenders for the Concession of the Luvo, Soyo and Luau Logistics Platforms.

In this session, the results obtained in the studies carried out to implement the Caála Logistics Platform, the Lombe Logistics Platform and the Arimba Logistics Platform were also presented.

Given their respective locations, these infrastructures were characterized as interconnection Logistics Platforms, and are intended to serve as strategic points for development and connectivity in the country.

The members of the RNPL Concertation Council also contacted the layout foreseen for the aforementioned Logistics Platforms and the technical projections of logistics activities. These projections were made with a view to taking into account the nature of economic activities in the regions where they are intended to be installed, and aim to enhance the integration of regional activities, agriculture and industry, serving as a facilitator of network distribution.

Technical projections of the investments to be made in Logistics Platforms were also presented.

On the other hand, the members of the Concertation Council were informed about the status of the Tenders for the Concession of the Luvo, Soyo and Luau Logistics Platforms.

The points were the subject of very constructive discussions, which resulted in important suggestions and recommendations from members, all of which were considered by the Council.

Present at the third and final session of the RNPL Consultation Council of the year were representatives of the Ministerial Departments responsible for Public Finance; for Economy and Planning; by the Territorial Administration; for Agriculture and Forestry; by Industry and Commerce; for Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas; and for Public Works and Spatial Planning.

Also present were the members of the ARCCLA Board of Directors, representatives of the Ministry of the Interior, the Ministry of Transport, Sonangol, SECIL, Emirates Logistics, SOGESTER, SHARAF, RNT, PRODEL, ECODIMA and the President of the Angolan Industries Association – AIA.
