Our high-speed train, which will be produced by TÜRASAŞ (Turkish Rail System Vehicles Industry Inc.), will reach a speed of 225 kilometers per hour. Each set will have 8 wagons with a total passenger capacity of 584 people.”
Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu made a written statement regarding the ongoing local and national high-speed train works. Uraloğlu stated that the high-speed trains, which are produced entirely with local and national resources, are designed to be highly comfortable and that they are nearing the end of the design processes in the national high-speed train project. Minister Uraloğlu emphasized that the national high-speed train project is a very important step for the future of Turkey and noted that Turkey has become a self-sufficient country in the production of railway vehicles, and said, “Our investments in the field of transport and infrastructure continue to bear fruit. Turkey has now become a country that designs, produces and develops technology in railways.”
‘IT WILL BE PRODUCED WITH THE LATEST TECHNOLOGY HARDWARE’
Reminding that they started passenger services with national electric train sets on May 27, 2023, Minister Uraloğlu said, “After our national electric train, we are also building our national high-speed train. Our high-speed train to be produced by TÜRASAŞ will reach a speed of 225 kilometers per hour. Each set will have 8 wagons with a total passenger capacity of 584 people. The trains will be produced with the latest technology equipment. It will offer maximum comfort to passengers with ghost screen technology integrated into doors and partition walls, folding tables with contactless fast charging stations, comfortable leather and fabric seat design, 3-dimensional ghost screen technology in the bistro area, indirect lighting system, and spacious interior design.”
‘ROAD TESTING WILL START IN THE LAST QUARTER OF 2025’
Minister Uraloğlu, who stated that the ‘National Traction System and Train Control Management System’, jointly developed with the Scientific and Technical Research Council of Turkey and the Rail Transportation Technologies Institute (TÜBİTAK-RUTE), will be used in the high-speed train project, reported that the critical components that make up the train set are produced with domestic and national products. Uraloğlu also stated that the project is being carried out in accordance with international standards and that they plan to start dynamic road tests by putting the train on the rails in the last quarter of 2025.
