It’s been 18 days since the little one Loan disappeared and the authorities are still investigating this case.
The five-year-old boy disappeared on June 13 after a family lunch at his grandmother’s house in the province of Corrientes, Argentina.
Loan’s disappearance has caused a stir in the country due to the course the investigation took.
Since the search for Loan began, there have been different hypotheses about what might have happened to the child.
Loan Peña was last seen picking oranges with his cousins, his uncle and a couple of his uncle’s friends, on his paternal grandmother’s farm.
Loan disappeared after walking away from an orange tree
The group reported that the child simply disappeared after moving away from the orange tree, about 600 meters from the house where everyone had just had lunch.
Six people have been arrested in the case, including officials and the boy’s family members.
Investigators say that a human trafficking network was behind the incident, which kidnapped the minor and sold him.
The suspects of carrying out the delivery of the child for these purposes are: Victoria Caillavawho served as Director of Production for the municipality of July 9th; and her husband, retired Navy officer Carlos Pérez.
Security Minister Patricia Bullrich reported that the government contacted the authorities of Paraguay in the event that the child may have been brought illegally into that country.
A search campaign for the minor has been launched through social media.
Renowned influencers from various countries such as ColombiaPuerto Rico, Chile and Peru have joined the campaign.
Meanwhile, the parents are asking for help from the media so that people who have seen him can notify the authorities.
In addition, in statements to the press, he said that he suspects everyone who attended the meeting except his mother.
Since Loan disappeared, the case has kept all of Argentina in suspense.
