On a day that represents a new advance in the productive development of the center of Cesar, the Rural Development Agency (ADR), under the leadership of its president, César Pachón Achury, delivered 388 brothers to 97 women from the Chimichagua Campesina Association (Ascachi), as part of the cattle strengthening project that promotes the entity in this region.
The deliveries, made in the corregimientos of Mandinguilla, El Guamo and La Vereda El Carmen, correspond to the second phase of the project, which began with the provision of fundamental tools and supplies such as electric fences, milking kits, drinkers, equipment for the preparation of the soil and other key elements to improve production systems.
With an investment that exceeds $ 1.9 billion, this initiative not only seeks to increase the livestock productivity of the territory, but to consolidate a sustainable, competitive model and with a gender approach, where peasant women are protagonists of local economic development.
Beatriz Salas, one of the young women beneficiaries of the project, expressed the importance of livestock for economic well -being and female leadership: “This is a great help to get ahead and demonstrate to society, already ourselves, all the skills we have as women. We are going to make ourselves see and assert by our own means,” said the young woman.
The strategy, which articulates assets, technical assistance and comprehensive accompaniment, aims to structurally improve the living conditions of rural women and their families, promoting a rurality with equity and social justice.
“The bet of the government of change, through the ADR, has been clear: dignify rural work, close historical gaps and provide real opportunities to those who make the field their life project. Under the leadership of César Pachón, we have accelerated the execution of these projects so that their impact is tangible and transformative,” said Carlos César Silva, director of the Territorial Technical Unit 1 of the ADR.
From the ADR will continue working hand in hand with communities, peasant associations and territorial entities, reaffirming the government’s government commitment to structural transformation and with a differential approach to the Colombian field.
