Liver cyst removed with closed surgery in Şırnak

A young girl in Şırnak with a 10-centimeter cyst in her liver regained her health with a closed surgery.

Living in the Beytüşşebap district of Şırnak, 22-year-old Sedef Aydemir, who applied to the Beytüşşebap State Hospital with complaints of indigestion and bloating, was referred to Şırnak State Hospital after the check-up.

In the examinations, it was determined that Aydemir had a cyst in his liver.

With the intervention performed by general surgery specialists Op. Dr. Serhat Binici and Op. Dr. İklil Eryılmaz, a 10-centimeter cyst was removed from the young girl’s liver.

Binici told reporters that this was the first time in Şırnak that a closed surgery was performed on a patient with a cyst in his liver.

Stating that they signed a risky operation, Binici said:

“Thankfully, we successfully performed this surgery with minimal damage and incision. We discharged our patient with recovery after a 3-day post-operative follow-up. His general condition is good now. He no longer has the complaints he had before the surgery.”

Eryılmaz also explained that patients are now being treated in Şırnak with the laparoscopic method, preventing patients from being referred to regional provinces.

Patient Aydemir stated that he was happy to regain his health with the successful operation.

Aydemir said, “Thank God, my complaints have decreased. I thank the teachers and the team. May God be pleased with them.”
