Linda Caicedo is nominated again for the Globe Soccer Awards for her performance in 2023

Colombian soccer player Linda Caicedo was nominated for the second consecutive year for the best player of 2023 award at the Globe Soccer Awards.

The Real Madrid player has had an outstanding year in Spanish football, a country she arrived in February, once she came of age, and her adaptation to one of the most important leagues in the world did not take long, which made it easier for her to assume ownership at the close of the 2022-2023 season and in the first part of the 2023-2024 season.

The two-time Colombia Women’s League champion was recognized at the 2022 Globe Soccer Awards, considered one of the most prestigious awards in world soccer. Caicedo was awarded the Best New Player award, a category that highlights young soccer players with exceptional performance. Her outstanding performance in Deportivo Cali and the Colombian national team earned her this international recognition.

The distinction for Best Player of the Year was awarded to the Spanish soccer player Alexia Putellas. The athlete, who plays as a midfielder for FC Barcelona and the Spanish national team, received this recognition after a year full of individual and collective successes, including her significant contribution to the achievements of her club.

Now, in 2023, Linda shares the nomination with 19 other players, where the following stand out: Aitana Bonmatí, winner of the Ballon d’Or awarded by France Football; Olga Carmona, appears in the Spanish team, which was world champion in Australia & New Zealand 2023; Debinha, who led the Brazil team in the World Cup; and the Asian Yui Hasegawa from Manchester City in England who led the Japanese team.

The fourteenth edition of the Globe Soccer Awards will take place at Atlantis, The Palm, on January 19, 2024. There are 16 categories and fans will be able to vote at this link to choose the 11 shortlisted until December 7 for the jury to decide the winners. The Globe Soccer jury, made up of more than 30 key figures from the football industry, including Francesco Totti, Iker Casillas, Luis Figo and Marcello Lippi, vote on the shortlists between December 12 and 28.
