Laura Sarabia’s brother breaks silence and defends himself

Last Tuesday, June 23, Andrés Sarabia, brother of Laura Sarabia, filed a criminal complaint with the Prosecutor’s Office for the crimes of insult and slander against the journalist Alejandro Villanueva. This legal action arises after the publication of a report that directly linked him to illicit practices related to influence peddling with the Colombian Government through the company ALA Consulting SAS, of which he is co-founder along with his family.

In the complaint, Sarabia, 25, categorically refutes the accusations made in the report. He assures that all the information disseminated has no real basis and is based solely on rumors and speculation. “There is and has not been any evidence of my intermediation in State affairs”Sarabia said, emphasizing that the alleged luxuries and acquisitions mentioned, such as a luxurious house in the 93rd Park and high-end vehicles, are completely false.

“My lifestyle has not undergone drastic changes, my income comes from my job in the private sector.“said the young businessman, who denies having taken luxurious trips or acquired expensive properties. According to him, All your expenses are consistent with your current income and do not reflect illicit enrichment as hinted at in the report.

In addition, Sarabia defended himself against accusations related to his alleged links with businessmen who benefited from contracts with the State. He clarified that his relationship with figures such as David Cure and Carlos Niño is exclusively professional and transparent, focused on legal and ethical projects. He flatly denied holding inappropriate meetings in the office of his lawyer, Andrés Ávila, belonging to Medio y Derecho SAS, owned by Ávila and linked to David Cure.

The company ALA Consulting SAS, founded two years ago with an initial capital of 6 million pesos, has been the subject of criticism for an alleged exponential growth without clear justification. Sarabia defended himself by indicating that the company has not had significant commercial transactions since last year, much less with the Government.

With this complaint, Andrés Sarabia seeks to clear his name and reputation against what he considers unfounded accusations that have affected his personal and professional life.
