SAN LUIS POTOSÍ, MEXICO.- Las Karamba is a female sextet founded in Barcelona in 2018, where the fate of six women has been intertwined through music.
This is a band made up of members from Venezuela, Cuba, Spain, France and Argentina. With traditional styles such as son, cha-chachá, salsa and timba, with influences from rap and urban music, along with a touch of samba and rumba, they have created a powerful and contagious new musical mix.
His second album, I tell you singingwill be presented on April 25 within the Empremtes festival in that Spanish city, EFE announced.
The group showcases electrifying shows, danceable songs, arrangements and catchy melodies. The singer Ahyvin Bruno knows how to captivate the public with her magnificent voice, accompanied by impeccable choruses.
The members
Over time they have changed members. Paula Grande, Magalí Datzira and Meritxell Neddermann are no longer part of Las Karamba, as they decided to dedicate themselves to their solo careers.
Now the group is made up of Ahyvin Bruno (vocals and güiro), Ahylin Bruno (congas and backing vocals), Liviet Ojeda (bass and backing vocals), Natasha Arizu (keyboard and backing vocals), Rita Baulida (drum) and María Gil (flute).
Baulida and the Bruno sisters are founders of the group. Her lyrics address the role of women in motherhood, prejudices and taboos in sexuality, and the complexities of carrying out artistic projects.
“They are their stories of migrations, of musical inheritances and of subversive and diverse motherhoods… stories that become music with the intention of pursuing dreams and vindicating the role of women,” the media reported.
Some of his most popular songs are “No Everything Is What It Looks”, “Ego”, “I’m Here”, “Ninguno Can Conmigo”, among others.
They have attended the Flawa Festival in London but also the Black Music Festival, Bioritme, Clownia or the Esperanzah Festival among many others.
