Lali Espósito revealed in a recent interview that she is working on her sixth studio album, which does not yet have a name or release date, although she did detail which musical genres are inspiring her.
The 32-year-old Argentine singer confessed to the YouTube channel, Tú Música Hoy, during her visit to Mexico City as part of the Emblema festival, that she is working on new album material.
In the interview, the artist talked about her most recent release, the song Mil Horas, a cover of one of the emblematic songs of rock in Spanish, originally performed by Los Abuelos de la Nada.
“It’s a lot of responsibility to sing a classic like that, but well, it’s the music that all of Argentina grew up with, that we all love, I grew up with that music, in a house where national rock was the backbone of what was heard”; she pointed out.
She highlighted that it was the producer Cachorro López who invited her to make this new version.
“We put together something different from the original, however, respecting the melody of what we all know,” he added.
He said that with the video “I didn’t want to do something pretentious.”
About his new album, he said that this single has a lot to do with his new material.
“It wasn’t thought that way, but incredibly it is in line with the album I’m preparing. It is an album that has a very deep-rooted, very present essence of national rock, although I make pop music influenced by electronic music and a lot of dancing, in this sixth album we are like using other sounds that have a lot to do with the 70s and the 80s, so in some way a little of my own thing crossed my path there with this reversal,” he noted.
Lali is one of the biggest stars of Argentine pop music, her talent has led her to win several awards and collaborate with international stars such as Thalía, Mau y Ricky, Karol G, Becky G, CNCO, Pabllo Vittar, Reik and Cazzu .
