The Punjab government says that the rehabilitation of Lahore’s 100 -year -old Sar -ul -Haq Lal Building is in the final stages.

Former Director and Consultant Department of Archeology Punjab Malik Maqsood Ahmed told Independent Urdu, “This is the Government College of Technology for Women Lutton Road, which is located in the building adjacent to the Sir Shadi Lal building.” Here for more than a hundred years, the rehabilitation of the building, named after Lal, is in the final stages and will be completed in a few months.
“Two photo galleries, scholars gallery and Sir Shadi Lal Gallery have also been established in the restored building.”
Maqsood Ahmed said, “Sir Shadi Lal was the first Chief Justice of the Lahore High Court, 1920-1934, who was from the subcontinent. Earlier, the English judges continued their duties. The building was built in 1909, where Sir Shadi was also a residence of Lal and a court.
In 1941, he was purchased by a few trusts and made Fateh a few colleges for women. After independence, he was handed over to the Department of Education.
‘Ghazi scholars were also presented here and they were locked here. In his case, Quaid -e -Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah also appeared here. ‘
Raj Pal, a publisher of Lahore, published the notorious book. Which caused severe anxiety among the Muslims. Muslim leaders demanded the British government to seize this heartbreaking book and take action against the publisher. The magistrate sentenced the publisher to only six months imprisonment, which was later released by the High Court.

Frustrated by the British government, Muslims organized several rallies. But the British government started section 144 and began to arrest only Muslim leaders. Finally, on April 6, 1929, Ghazi Alamuddin killed the publisher. He was tried and he was sentenced to death.
Maqsood Ahmad said, “In the two separate galleries built in this building, photographs of Sir Shadi Lal and their decisions have also been photographed. The second gallery also features photographs of Ghazi scholars, cases against them and copies of the decision. In addition, there are photographs of references and jail where Ghazi scholars were closed. ‘

According to the Consultant Archeology, ‘this building is being done enough to maintain the original form as the craftsmen are few for the ancient and Mughal style. But we are trying to restore it in real state, for which the wood used here is being done and repairing.
