Laguneros are going to take a photo at the ‘Sussy’ mural

The essence and joy that characterized Susana Ortiz can be perceived in a neighborhood in Torreón.

There is a little piece of the so-called “Diva de la Cumbia Lagunera” in a location in the Rincón de la Merced neighborhood.

At the location, Calle Torreón de la Alianza number 617, you can see a colorful mural of “Sussy” made by the artist Juan Ismael Ramírez Zapata, known on social media as “Pintoymevoy Ramírez Zapata.”

At the beginning of April, Juan Ismael made the mural in three hours and finalized details days later, until he left it impeccable.

Over the days, hundreds of Laguneros have gone to take photos next to this tribute. Whether it’s day or night, there are almost always people.

“We have very good cumbia singers in the region, but, well, Susana is and will be the only Lagunera diva,” Carlos García commented to this newspaper. He already took the photo and added that he already uploaded it on his networks.

Anita Sánchez took her daughter, Britany, to admire the mural. She explained that she always went to see the Neighborhood Boys, when she was a teenager.

“Dimas, my Susana and Yiyo were the mere, mere. We see that there are many lawsuits now; however, what they achieved together in music will forever remain in the history of cumbia lagunera. I hope Susana continues singing in heaven” .

Juan Ismael Ramírez Zapata commented a few weeks ago to “El defender of the community” how the idea of creating the mural was born.

“For a long time I wanted to make a drawing of Dimas, Susana and Yiyo; however, due to certain things I couldn’t do it.
