Lagunera mothers have died without knowing where their missing children are

Eight mothers who for years waited for the return of their children, lost their lives without hearing from them; three of them were from La Comarca Lagunera de Coahuila.

And within the framework of Mother’s Day, United Forces for Our Disappeared (Funndec-M) remembered each of them, in a statement they made this May 9, at the foot of the so-called Tree of Hope in Alameda. Zaragoza de Torreón.

With the photograph of their loved ones, the mothers who are part of the group gathered around 10:00 a.m.

“They are meeting now in the context of May 10 to make this demand because no one has been found, neither dead nor alive, after all this time, of promoting laws, because the search and investigation leaves much to be desired“said María Eugenia Arriaga, from the Juan Gerardi Human Rights Center.

Arriaga commented that from 2013 to date, at least eight mothers of missing children have died in that wait, in that illusion of knowing what happened to them.

Three are originally from Torreón and the rest are from other parts of the state and even the country, but they are part of Funndec, since their children were lost in La Laguna.

Misinformation, often from the Government itself, was an important factor in the deterioration of the health of these women, commented the representative of the Human Rights center.

“The same authorities They have been responsible for giving false news, so some of them told them that their children were dead without verifying anything. There is a company, Alma told her that her son was dead and from then on her health began to deteriorate, it was in 2013 that she died. Last year was the last year she died, her son was lost in Piedras Negras, and his health was deteriorating little by little until he died,” she commented.
