Kumamoto denounces that IEPC officials illegally removed ballots from Zapopan

MEXICO CITY (apro).- Pedro Kumamoto, candidate for Morena for the municipal presidency of Zapopan, Jalisco, denounced on networks that alleged officials of the Electoral and Citizen Participation Institute (IEPC) illegally extracted valid electoral ballots from the municipal election to transfer them to the Municipal Council of the entity.

He explained that the ballots were taken out in black bags without giving the corresponding notice, which could affect the votes being altered.

“The problem is that they took the ballots out in black bags, without notifying anyone and without respecting the proper chain of protection, to guarantee that these votes were not lost or altered,” he explained.

His message is accompanied by a video in which alleged officials wearing Electoral Institute t-shirts argue with citizens who question why they are taking the electoral ballots.

The Moreno candidate stressed that what is happening is unacceptable, since it affects the certainty and legality of the electoral process.

The Preliminary Electoral Results Program (PREP) in Zapopan, with 82% progress, reports that Juan José Frangie, from Movimiento Ciudadano (MC), has 47.6% of the vote, while Pedro Kumamoto, Morena’s standard bearer, has 15.1 %.
