Kremlin publishes decree on partial military mobilization in Russia – Al-Baath Media

The Kremlin website today published the decree on partial military mobilization in the country, which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin in a speech this morning.

According to the text of the decree published by the Kremlin, in accordance with the federal laws of May 31, 1996 on defense and February 26, 1997 on preparation for mobilization and mobilization in the Russian Federation, partial mobilization has been declared as of today, during which citizens are called up for military service and those called up will have the status of contract military personnel serving in the Russian Armed Forces, including the level of pay.

The decree indicated that the validity of military service contracts concluded by military personnel will continue until the end of the partial mobilization period, except in cases of military personnel being dismissed from military service on the basis specified by this decree.

The grounds for exemption from military service during the period of partial mobilization for servicemen performing military service under a contract, as well as citizens of the Russian Federation called up for military service for mobilization in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, are determined by age if they have exceeded the maximum age for military service and by health status.

The decree states that the Russian government must finance partial mobilization activities and take the necessary measures to meet the needs of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and other military forces, formations and bodies during the period of partial mobilization. Senior officials of Russian entities must also ensure the recruitment of citizens for military service for mobilization in the Armed Forces in the required number and within the time limits determined by the Russian Ministry of Defense for each of the country’s entities.

The decree granted citizens of the Russian Federation working in military-industrial complexes the right to postpone conscription for military service for mobilization during the period of work in these institutions, while the government determines the categories of citizens who are granted the right to postponement and the procedures for granting it.
