Vienna (OTS) – “The activity report of the Vienna Nursing and Patient Advocacy Office discussed today unfortunately once again clearly shows the systemic deficiencies in the Vienna health sector,” stressed the health spokesperson of the Vienna People’s Party, LAbg. Ingrid Korosec, in today’s Vienna State Parliament.
In one third of the cases, treatment errors were reported, some of them very serious. “Of course, mistakes happen wherever people work. But this is not about one thing, this is about people – you must never lose sight of that,” stresses Korosec. There are still many problems, especially in the essential area of discharge management, which can have far-reaching consequences for the patients affected.
The criticism is by no means directed at the employees in the health sector, but at those responsible for politics, above all the responsible city councillor Hacker. “These are clearly management problems that are highlighted in this activity report, but which have a direct impact on the nursing staff and doctors and, of course, on the patients. As a city government, you cannot simply ignore this and move on to business as usual – you have to fulfil your responsibility and act,” Korosec concluded.
