Material
1 cup mawa
2 cups grated beetroot
1 cup sugar
1 cup milk powder
1/4 tsp cardamom powder
2 tbsp almond powder
Ghee as per requirement
Method
– First of all, put ghee in a pan on medium flame and keep it to heat.
Now after this add beetroot and fry for 2 minutes. Now add sugar in it and cook while stirring till it dissolves.
On the other side, add mawa to the pan and fry it. When the mawa is roasted, add sugar and cook.
– Now after the sugar and mawa are roasted, add cardamom powder and cook for 2 minutes and turn off the gas.
After this, add milk powder to the beetroot mixture and cook until it thickens.
When the mixture starts leaving the pan, add cardamom powder and almond powder, mix and cook for 2 minutes.
– Now apply ghee on a plate, grease it and first spread the mawa mixture, then spread the beetroot mixture on top and press it lightly with a spoon.
– Now keep the mixture for 2 hours to set. After this, cut the barfi into desired shapes.
