A British family recently suffered the loss of their kitten Ted while on holiday in Türkiye.when a neighbor contacted the cat’s owner, Nicci Knight, only to inform her that Her beloved pet had been found lifeless in the pond in her garden at home in the town of Newby, North Yorkshire, England.

Nicci felt overwhelmed and frustrated that she couldn’t make an express trip to meet her deceased cat, so she asked her neighbor to take care of everything after becoming convinced that Ted had passed on. after seeing his tiny body through a video call that convinced her of the pet’s sad end.

“It was a massive shock. They were holding what I thought was Ted. It was horrible. There was nothing we could do about it and it really affected the holiday,” she told The Sun newspaper.

Knight contacted Elise Garbutt, Ted’s caregiver and the other pets’ caregiver, and arranged for a crematorium to collect the cat and incinerate him.

Four days later, Garbutt returned to Nicci’s home to feed Moosh, the family’s other cat, and was shocked to see Ted walk through the cat flap in the door as if nothing had happened.

Shocked and a little terrified, Elise called Nicci to inform her that her cat, like Lazarus, had returned from the dead.news that its owner could not understand, since the animal had been cremated.

“You’re not going to believe this: Ted just walked in! I thought I was seeing a ghost cat,” she told her. Nicci confessed that the whole situation “was crazy” and put her family on an “emotional roller coaster.”

The owner contacted the crematorium to say there had been a mistake. It turned out that they had already cremated a cat with black and white markings very similar to Ted’s. Upon returning from vacation, Nicci received the ashes of the wrong feline, along with a condolence carda framed paw print, a small jar containing a skin sample, and a cremation certificate.

Since then, Nicci has been looking for the owners of the deceased cat without success.

“We know someone must be missing their pet and feeling sad, so we’re still looking,” the woman concluded, relieved that Ted is alive.
