In response to the sending of the Kingdom of Morocco, on instructions from King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, yesterday, Monday, a shipment of medical aid for the benefit of the Palestinians besieged in the Gaza Strip, Qassem Awad, Director General of the Human Rights Department of the Palestine Liberation Organization, said in a statement exclusively to Hespress newspaper. Electronic, “Any step or attempt, similar to the Moroccan step, to break the siege imposed on our people in Gaza is a step on the right side of history towards victory for the struggles and blood of the Palestinians.”

The same Palestinian official added, “Morocco, by sending medical supplies and urgent aid, specifically to the northern Gaza Strip, which has been suffering for months on instructions from King Mohammed VI, is thus saving the lives of our oppressed people and alleviating their suffering.” We call on the Kingdom of Morocco, the people and the government headed by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, to exert more pressure to immediately stop the Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip.”

The Director General of the Human Rights Department of the Palestine Liberation Organization stressed, within the same statement, that “the relationship between us and brotherly Morocco has always been an authentic and participatory relationship in the struggle against the occupation, as the Kingdom of Morocco was a witness to the catastrophe of our people from the Moroccan side until this day.” He added: “We hope that the Moroccan step will not be the last, especially since the Gazans today are in dire need of gestures of this kind and of all attempts aimed at breaking the siege imposed on them in light of the war of extermination that the occupation is waging against the Palestinians.”

The same spokesman called on the Kingdom of Morocco, in its capacity as President of the United Nations Human Rights Council, “to hold an urgent session for all international organizations concerned with human rights and issue a statement condemning the Israeli occupation for committing war crimes, genocide, crimes of apartheid, field executions, and widespread killing against the residents of the Gaza Strip.” He called on human rights organizations in the world to “begin documenting the crimes committed by the occupation in preparation for bringing it to trial and filing lawsuits in their countries against these crimes.”

This is not the first time that the Moroccan King has ordered urgent relief aid to be directed to the residents of the Gaza Strip to alleviate their suffering in the face of the severe shortage they face in terms of food and medicine supplies, as he previously ordered sending 40 tons of food supplies to the benefit of the Palestinians in Gaza and Holy Jerusalem, which was carried out. Delivering it via a land route, which Morocco is the first to use to deliver aid, and it is the same route through which the latest medical aid will be delivered.

Since the outbreak of war between Israel and the Hamas movement on October 7, Rabat has called at the highest levels for an immediate ceasefire and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital. The king of the country described the brutal aggression against the Palestinians and the continued deterioration of their humanitarian conditions, during a speech. Addressing the work of the fifteenth summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation held in Gambia last May, he called “a stain on humanity,” blaming some Israeli officials for the aggravation of this situation and the increase in the pace of settler attacks in the West Bank.
