A statement from the Royal Palace revealed that the king will be admitted to hospital next week to receive treatment, although his health condition is not serious.
Reuters explained that King Charles (75) had many commitments this week, and the decision was made to postpone them based on medical advice to allow for a short recovery period, which prompted the palace to announce the infection in a statement on Wednesday .
The statement said: “Like thousands of men every year, the King seeks treatment for an enlarged prostate. His Majesty’s condition is benign and he will be admitted to hospital next week to undergo a corrective procedure.”

A palace statement explains that he is expected to stay at the private London Clinic hospital, in the British capital, for a period of between 10 and 14 days for treatment, before completing the recovery phase at home.

The palace statement reads: “The Princess of Wales appreciates the interest that this statement will generate… and hopes that the public understands her desire to preserve as much normality as possible for her children, and her wish that her information medical services remain private.”
His office said it will not provide updated data on his treatment progress unless there is “significant new information to share.” She added that she would not return to her public duties “until probably after Easter.”
