KFHI and PAM renew their commitment

At the signing of the third agreement between KFHI and WFP.

The NGO Korea Food for the Hungry International (KFHI) and the World Food Programme (WFP) have strengthened their commitment for a third time to improve the living conditions of children in Madagascar.

They renewed, for the third time, their strategic partnership in the framework of the School Canteen in Madagascar, last Friday. This collaboration, aimed at fighting hunger and promoting education, has significantly improved the living conditions of children and local communities. During the 2022-2023 school year, this partnership made it possible to equip 80 improved stoves in 18 public primary schools, as well as to build four water tanks and two wells. These initiatives have significantly improved access to drinking water and contributed to creating a healthier school environment. In 2023-2024, efforts have intensified with the distribution of 320 improved stoves in 50 schools and the construction of two new water tanks, benefiting eight additional schools.

For the 2024-2025 school year, the project continues to develop, with a particular focus on the continued provision of drinking water and the expansion of the “Complete Pack”, which includes access to drinking water, school gardens, improved stoves and nutritional training in two pilot primary schools. “Since October 2022, we have implemented a project that has provided cookstoves and water tanks to 68 WFP-supported schools in Madagascar. These improvements have not only improved cooking and reduced health risks, but have also increased access to safe drinking water. We are excited to continue this mission and expand our support to schools in the Ambovombe region.”said Chang Nam Choi, president of KFHI International.
