The Pixar sequel, Inside Out 2 (Inside Out 2) grossed $100 million in ticket sales in its second weekend, according to published estimates Sunday by the studio, setting a new record for an animated film sequel in theaters.
The previous best second weekend for an animated title was with The Super Mario Bros. Movie with 92 million dollars.
Only six films have had best second weekends.
In just a week and a half, Inside Out 2 has become the highest-grossing film of 2024 to date with $724.4 million a world levelincluding the $355.2 million grossed in theaters in USA y Canada.
That exceeds the world total of $711.8 million. Dune: Part Two.
It is possible that Inside Out 2 surpass the billion dollar mark in about a week, which would make it the first film since Barbie (2023) in achieving it.
