The Kazakhstan Canoe Sprint Team has completed its performance at the World Youth Championships in Hungary, Liter.kz reports with reference to Olympic.kz.
Although Kazakhstani athletes failed to win medals, they showed decent results.
“The best result in the team was demonstrated by Olympic athletes Maria Brovkova and Rufina Iskakova. In the canoe double 500-meter competition, they took fifth place. It should be noted that Brovkova and Iskakova will represent Kazakhstan at the upcoming Olympic Games,” the press service of the Olympic Committee reported.
The team’s other results are also worth noting.
Stella Sukhanova, who competed in a single kayak at a distance of 1000 meters, took 16th place. In the competition in a double kayak in the mixed classification at a distance of 500 meters, Bekarys Ramatulla and Karina Seminikina took 17th place.
Maria Brovkova also showed sixth and ninth results in the 500 and 1000 meters in canoe single, respectively. Rufina Iskakova finished sixth in the canoe single 200 meters. Bekarys Ramatulla, who will also compete in the Olympics, took 20th place in the kayak single 500 meters.
In addition, Stella Sukhanova took 13th place in the 500-meter single kayak race.
Earlier, Kazakhstani rowers won 30 medals at the continental championship.
