Kazakhstani judoka Esmigul Kuyulova has received the opportunity to compete in the individual event at the Summer Olympics in Paris, Liter.kz reports with reference to press service National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Previously, Kuyulova had a quota only for participation in mixed team competitions. Now, according to official confirmation from the International Judo Federation, the athlete will be able to compete in the individual event as well.
“At the moment, it has been officially confirmed that Esmigul Kuyulova will compete in the individual event. Before that, she received a quota to participate in the mixed team competition. Now the International Judo Federation has confirmed that Kuyulova will also take part in the individual competition,” said Aibek Imashev, Secretary General of the Kazakhstan Judo Federation.
Esmigul Kuyulova is one of the leading judokas of Kazakhstan. In 2023, she won a bronze medal at the Asian Games, and in 2024 – at the Asian Championship. Participation in the individual discipline at the Olympic Games is a significant achievement for the athlete and the entire national judo team.
Support from the Kazakhstan Judo Federation and excellent results at international tournaments helped Kuyulova get this prestigious opportunity. Now she will be able to demonstrate her skills at the world level, representing Kazakhstan.
