A major rating tournament in wrestling has ended in Budapest, Hungary. Kazakh Greco-Roman wrestlers were left without awards, Liter.kz reports with reference to Olympic.kz.
In the category up to 60 kilograms, Aidos Sultangali lost in the first bout to the representative of South Korea, Dahun Kim. In the category up to 77 kilograms, Demeu Zhadraev was also defeated in the first fight by Sanan Suleymanov from Azerbaijan.
“In the weight category up to 87 kilograms, Kazakhstan was represented by two athletes – Shamil Ozhaev and Nursultan Tursynov. Ozhaev was able to win his first fight, but then lost to Ali Cengiz from Turkey. Tursynov lost to David Losonji from Hungary in the 1/8 finals and was defeated by Mohammadhossein Mahmoudi from Iran in the consolation round,” the NOC press service reports.
Thus, the Kazakh Greco-Roman wrestlers were unable to achieve success at this tournament, being left without medals.
The tournament in Hungary was an important experience for the athletes, and new competitions and opportunities to prove themselves await them.
