Sparta was visited by the president of SYRIZA-PS, Stefanos Kasselakis, as part of his two-day tour of the Peloponnese in view of the European elections.
Mr. Kasselakis spoke in a warm atmosphere with residents of the capital of Laconia about the issues that concern them, while the next stop of his tour is Kalamata.
After the dialogue he had with the citizens, the president of SYRIZA characteristically noted that he knows that “Lakonia has a right-wing tradition”.
“I respect that but, at the same time, I urge the citizens to think about whether they are satisfied with the precision they experience when the prime minister of the country chooses not to put an extraordinary tax on the excess profits of the banks, as we propose, and not to reduce the VAT on basic goods . This accuracy, which he said before was ‘imported’ and today he calls our country ‘banana’, is a political choice”, stressed Stefanos Kasselakis.

“Think if you are proud that there is no political responsibility for Tempe”
He also invited the citizens to think “if they are happy with the National Health System, with the care, which I know Sparta and all of Laconia have big problems, while for years, large packages have passed from Europe and they should that we were fortified at this time in our public Health. And apparently, instead, we’re seeing afternoon surgeries and private clinics,” he said.
“And finally”, he noted, let the citizens of Laconia think “if they are proud that in our country there is no political responsibility for the crime of Tempe, that there is a cover-up by the ruling faction. As there will be no political responsibility for the 400,000 euros, which we citizens will pay for the embezzlement of the voters’ private data”, he added, stressing that “they take our personal data and, at the same time, we pay the fine of the Ministry of the Interior” .
Stefanos Kasselakis emphasized that we are a country “that has the right to have people and institutions – Justice, Democracy – at the center, and solidarity. And not a country that will be satisfied with impunity, arrogance and a precision of oligopolies and obscene profit”.
“All these slogans are a political choice. And I testify to all of you that our proposal is not only cost-effective: it is necessary for the flourishing of the whole society and especially the province”, he concluded.
