On March 5, the First Deputy Minister of Defense – Chief of the General Staff of the Azerbaijan Army, Colonel-General Karim Valiyev met with the delegation led by the Director General of the Joint Staff of the Pakistan Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Ahsan Gulrez, who was visiting Baku, and discussed the issues of military cooperation between the two countries.

First, the Pakistani delegation paid tribute to the memory of the children of the Motherland, who died for the independence and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, in the Alley of Martyrs, and laid a wreath in front of the “Eternal Torch” monument.
General-Colonel K. Valiyev greeted the guests and expressed his pleasure to see them in Azerbaijan, stressing that friendly and brotherly relations between the two countries, as well as Azerbaijan-Pakistan relations and strategic partnership, are developing on a rising line.
The Chief of General Staff emphasized the importance of trilateral joint military exercises with the participation of Azerbaijan, Pakistan and Turkey, and emphasized the importance of such exercises in terms of exchange of experience between the armies and further improvement of the professionalism of military personnel.
