Two days before the planned departure for Paris, the two Malagasy karateka Fabio Lee Rabemanantsoa and Tsiky Mialy Andrianavalona are holding their breath. Selected respectively in men’s kata and kumite in the under 55 kg category, they have still not received their visa, while the preliminary phase of the World Championships will be held from October 17 to 19. According to the explanations, the two athletes filed their request more than a month ago. Confident, they continued their preparation with intensity, banking on a favorable outcome. But as the deadline approaches, the lack of a visa seriously compromises their participation. This qualification represents an immense honor for Madagascar. Fabio Lee and Tsiky Mialy hope to join Mirantsoa Razafindrakoto, already qualified in kata. Their presence in Paris is crucial to take this last step towards the senior world championships scheduled for Cairo at the end of November. Faced with this impasse, the two karatekas launched an appeal to the competent authorities. They are calling for rapid intervention so as not to see months of work and hope disappear. Malagasy sport deserves to be represented on the world stage.
