Kalki 2898 AD update, another teaser of Amitabh Bachchan as Ashwatthama

New Delhi: A new day, a new update about Kalki 2898 AD. The creators have released a new video teasing a big announcement coming on Saturday (April 27) at 5PM ET. In the video shared on the official Instagram page, Amitabh Bachchan’s character is seen sporting a long hair and beard look, wearing a rugged outfit. His face is covered with bandages. The actor approaches a Shivalinga and says, “Now my time has come. The time has come for my final battle. [अब मेरा समय है. मेरी अंतिम लड़ाई का समय आ गया है।]” After this, a text flashes on the screen: “Stay tuned tomorrow at 5 pm.” The caption of the video reads, “The time has come! Announcement tomorrow at 5 pm. stay tuned.”

Before this video, the makers of Kalki 2898 AD had released another poster revealing the details of Amitabh Bachchan’s character. In the film, Big B will play the role of Ashwatthama, son of Dronacharya (a major character in the Mahabharata). In the poster, Amitabh Bachchan’s character is standing with a long stick. It is written on top of the poster, “I have been waiting for Dashavatar since Dwaparayuga. Ashwatthama, son of Dronacharya [द्वापरयुग से दशावतार के आगमन की प्रतीक्षा कर रहा है। द्रोणाचार्य के पुत्र, अश्वत्थामा।]”

Amitabh Bachchan had posted a note on X (formerly Twitter) to share his experience of working in Kalki 2898 AD. The veteran star wrote, “T 4988 – It has been an experience for me, unlike any other.. The brain behind such a product, the execution, the feel of modern technology and above all the stratospheric super star Company of colleagues present..”

Apart from Amitabh Bachchan, Kalki 2898 AD features a stellar cast including Kamal Haasan, Prabhas, Deepika Padukone and Disha Patani. The mythology-inspired sci-fi film is directed by Nag Ashwin. Backed by Ashwini Dutt, Kalki 2898 AD will release in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi.
