LR Teschl-Hofmeister: Junior Company sails on course for success with natural products
St. Pölten (OTS) – This school year, the junior company “Naturzauber Warth” produced herbal salts and beeswax candles, which were sold at regional markets and in the farm shop of the Agricultural College (LFS) in Warth. At the end of the school year, the company’s doors are closed again and it is time to take stock: over 1,000 salt shakers and over 1,000 beeswax candles were sold. “It is impressive that the students venture into the tough world of business every year and can gain valuable experience for their own professional lives,” emphasises State Education Minister Christiane Teschl-Hofmeister. “The junior company ‘Naturzauber Warth’ sailed on a successful course this school year with its self-made herbal salts and beeswax candles, for which I warmly congratulate them. This is a prime example of a brilliant business idea that has been optimally implemented in practice,” says Teschl-Hofmeister.
“The second-year students of the two specializations ‘Social Care Professions’ and ‘Business and Household Management’ at the Warth Agricultural College are showing entrepreneurial spirit and founded the junior company with the catchy name ‘Naturzauber Warth’ at the start of school,” explains specialist teacher Maria Haring, who carefully supports the young people. They produce fragrant candles made from beeswax with an organic certificate. They work together with the Warth Beekeeping School, which only produces organic honey. The company’s second economic mainstay is the production of herbal salts, which are available in three variations. For this purpose, spices were cultivated in the school garden and mixed into the salt in dried form. Chili, juniper berries, celery, thyme, rosemary and carrots are used, for example. The junior company is represented on Instagram and Facebook.
