LR Teschl-Hofmeister: “Training day offers a good opportunity to prepare optimally for the 18th Lower Austria Women’s Run”
St. Pölten (OTS) – On Saturday, July 20th, a training day for 30 runners and interested parties will take place for the tenth time in the run-up to the 18th Lower Austria Women’s Run. Informative lectures and a practical part will be offered at the Lower Austria Sports Center in St. Pölten. “Women interested in running can get tips and tricks from the specialist lectures to improve their own training. The free training day offers our runners a good opportunity to prepare optimally for the Lower Austria Women’s Run, which takes place on September 1st,” says Christiane Teschl-Hofmeister, State Councilor for Women.
The specialist lectures will cover topics such as improving performance, preventing injuries and the mental effects of running. Here, the topics of how injuries can be prevented, how running and physical exercise are beneficial for your health and how speed can be improved are discussed in more detail. “With a few simple exercises, every runner can improve their training considerably. The professionals around Herbert Schandl’s team will show how this works and can give the runners some valuable tips for the run and how to prepare for it,” explains Christian Kohl, organizer of the Lower Austria Women’s Run and of “Running Against Cancer”, the planned training session. The exercises from the “Running ABC” help you run more economically and with more coordination. A balanced training also includes strengthening exercises for all muscle groups that are not trained when running.
