This Tuesday, June 3, the former director of the DANE and former candidate for the Mayor’s Office of Bogotá, Juan Daniel Oviedo Arango, formalized his intention to aspire to the presidency of the Republic for the period 2026-2030 with the registration of his significant group committee of citizens in the National Registry.
The movement is called “all over Colombia” and will seek to break through outside the traditional parties.
Oviedo, known for his technical approach, his management in front of the DANE and his recent political prominence in Bogotá, already becomes one of the figures that anticipate the presidential electoral contest of 2026. With this registration, the collection process of at least 635,215 valid firms before November 17, 2025, required by the Registry for those who wish to aspire to those who wish to aspire to those who wish for those who wish for those. Popular for citizen movements and not by political parties.
A citizen and independent commitment
During the act of registration, Oviedo stressed that Colombia needs a deep transformation, focused on results, data and closeness with citizens.
“In Colombia, 7.5 million homes live with the anguish of not having enough foods to eat; there are 2 million people living under the siege of violence; more than 12.5 million are concerned about insecurity, and 6.7 million parents do not know how to feed their children every day. This cannot continue like this,” he said.
The “with all of Colombia” movement is proposed as a channel to build a political alternative based on discipline, active listening and the articulation between the public and private sector. “Colombia does need a change, but one that is achieved with facts, not only with words. And I am convinced that I can lead it,” he added.
National tour and construction of lists to Congress
The registration of the committee not only marks the beginning of the collection of signatures, but also a national tour that Oviedo will undertake in the coming weeks to directly listen to citizens, “put face to the data” and refine the proposals of their government program.
In addition, he announced that an open call process will begin to Colombians and Colombians interested in building a new political project. This process seeks to form lists to Congress that accompany him on his way to the House of Nariño, indicating a political strategy that transcends the presidential election and aims to consolidate his own legislative bench.
