MEXICO CITY (apro).-The work and journalistic spirit of Julio Scherer García will be remembered next Wednesday, July 3, when the book presentation takes place Journalism for historythe anthology that brings together from the first to the last note by the founder of Process.
The event will take place at the El Sótano bookstore at 7:00 p.m. and will be moderated by writer Juan Villoro, journalist Diego Enrique Osorno and María Scherer.

“Almost 67 years passed between his first note in March 1948 and his last masterful text published posthumously in 2015.”
The book was recently published by the Grijalbo publishing house and shows the texts that the reporter made about the return of the Nazi generals to post-war Germany, the life of Hiroshima years after the atomic bomb and the profiles of the men close to John F. Kennedy among many other moments of world geopolitics.
The volume is considered “a window to his professional and human evolution”, as it contains informative notes, interviews, chronicles and reports signed by Julio Scherer García during his time at La Extra, Excélsior and Process.
The presentation will take place a few days after the 48th anniversary of the so-called Blow to Excelsiorwhen on July 8, 1976, a group of members of the Excélsior cooperative together with another group of infiltrators sent by the government of Luis Echeverría Alvarez gave the “final blow” to the team of reporters, columnists, cartoonists, intellectuals and workers that he led the most important newspaper in Latin America, under the direction of Julio Scherer García and which culminated on November 6 with the founding of this publishing house.
