Jorge Fossati: “I saw Peru getting stronger and firmer”

Peruvian national team coach Jorge Fossati spoke out regarding the Bicolor’s participation in the 2024 Copa América.

In this context, the Uruguayan technical director had several points to comment and clarify regarding the Bicolor. Not only from a strictly footballing perspective, but also from other external perspectives that, in some way, affected the team’s peace of mind thinking about the immediate future.

After the above, Jorge Fossati answered individual questions about certain footballers, such as Cristhian Cueva, André Carrillo, Renato Tapia, Bryan Reina and Joao Grimaldo. According to the assessment of the national team’s coach, Jorge Fossati, there are also points that concern him and his technical team, but that does not mean that he has not dispelled many doubts since he took over the team until today. In light of this, the coach stressed that even in the negative results at the Copa América, there is a growth that he values ​​and recognizes as important: “As I said, I saw Peru getting firmer, stronger, very competitive, and this is not only due to observation, but also because the numbers from the matches confirm this growth, this firm step we have been taking, and of course, when I talk about numbers I am specifically referring to the fact that the numbers also tell you how the match went,” he asserted.
