Joe Joyce Comes Back After Being Beaten by Zhang Zhilei, Carl Froch: He’s an Old Dog!

Carl Froch made controversial comments when responding to comeback plans Joe Joyce . With harsh diction, Froch said the 38-year-old boxer was no longer fit to return to the ring.

Joyce is back for the first time since two consecutive defeats last year, when he was beaten by a heavyweight monster from China, Zhang Zhilei . The defeat was quite surprising considering that Joyce rarely lost, and always dominated in fights against Joseph Parker and Daniel Dubois.

Speaking on his own YouTube channel, Froch on Fighting, ‘The Cobra’ didn’t hold back in assessing Joyce’s comeback after he beat Kash Ali by stoppage in the tenth round last weekend.

“We saw it, when he went up to world level, Zhang Zhilei beat him twice and the second time it was a bad knockout.” said Carl Froch.

“Joyce may be able to learn to dodge blows, but one can’t teach an old dog new tricks.”

Froch then delivered his final, withering assessment of Joyce, who was recently embroiled in a war of words with Martin Bakole.

“Joe Joyce showed me that he might have to think about putting down the gloves.”

After that fight, Joyce challenged Dillian Whyte, who is rebuilding his career after almost a year out due to a failed drugs test, and Whyte has responded.
