Mir achieved his best result this season in the last series at Spanish MotoGP 2024 . Despite finishing ninth in the sprint at the Jerez Circuit, he was able to finish the main race in 12th position.
Even though this achievement seems ordinary, in a difficult situation where the Honda motorbike’s performance is declining, this achievement is considered a proud achievement for Mir in MotoGP 2024. For him, finishing and getting points in sprint races and main races is currently difficult.
However, Mir had to overcome the curse that had been haunting him at the French MotoGP. Since his victory in the Moto3 class with Honda in 2017, Mir has never scored points at Le Mans, even after moving up to the premier class.
Despite this, the Spanish racer remains optimistic about the 2024 French MotoGP. He is determined to repeat his success at Jerez.
“If we look at the results we achieved in Jerez, I think we should be proud because we achieved the best results we could possibly get. “We hope to do the same thing this weekend,” said Mir as reported by Speedweek on Wednesday (8/5/2024).
Mir also does not deny that the Buggatti Circuit, the official track at Le Mans, has always been a challenge for him. Despite this, he was determined to make his bike adapt as well as possible.
“Le Mans is a different type of track with lots of slow corners, so we have to adapt as best we can. “I have faced difficulties on this track in the past,” added the former Suzuki racer.
The 2024 French MotoGP will be held on May 10-12, this weekend. The 13 lap sprint will take place on Saturday (11/5/2024) at 20.00 WIB, followed by the main race of 27 laps at 19.00 WIB the following day.
