There are those who work behind the scenes but are not always in the spotlight. In major competitions, the parade outfit of all delegations is always highly anticipated.
This is a taste of the competitions and all countries are trying to stand out and score points for this first official outing. Behind Madagascar’s outfit in Paris is Mirasoa Tsirimpitiavana, who chose rice as her theme. Why? “In Madagascar, rice is life. It is the basis of food and there is this very cultural side around it,” the manager of the company D-Zen Confection told us.
She therefore proposed a traditional outfit, a set made of linen, a dress for girls and a set for boys with a hat, a scarf in “lamba landy” and a pair of sandals. Upon arrival, the outfit did not go unnoticed since photos of two young Malagasy Olympians, Laura Rasoanaivo and Rosina Randafiarison circulated on social networks and even on the website of the International Olympic Committee.
At the head of a family business, Mirasoa works with six other people. The 33-year-old woman launched her business in 2019 by making the outfit of the Barea of Madagascar, the national football team, for the African Cup of Nations in Egypt. Since then, she has been responsible for making all the outfits for Malagasy sports delegations, whether for the African Games, the Island Games or the Francophone Games. “I am very proud of what I have accomplished and especially of this support for Malagasy talent and know-how,” she concluded.
