An unmissable man with a wonderful voice, gallant and hardworking. But also careless, vulgar and indebted. These are the two positions of a person who fought in vain against laryngeal cancer. Jiří Pomeje died on February 26, 2019 at the premature age of fifty-four.
Even more surprised were the editors of PrahaIN.cz by the words of the loan shark with whom we interact regularly. It was he who introduced us to the functioning of this type of business, who revealed the rules, the percentages and here and there the names.
This time he contacted us with a story that can be considered credible. In his own words, the loan shark in question has no reason to lie. “I knew Jirka. He repeatedly got into trouble, he always needed money for a project, I never gave him a loan,” this businessman said.
“I didn’t lend it to him because I liked it. He was willing to pay 12% interest per month, which a normal person would never have the ability to pay,” he continues.
The reason for our call was precisely the actor’s debts. “I know he borrowed from some people. One of them came to me recently, he was looking for a way to get there, that’s why I called you so that you could write to me, “said the loan shark.

Liquidation, end
Although Jiří Pomeje was known as an actor and voice actor, he also ran a business. The editorial team of PrahaIN.cz had the opportunity to study the documents of the key company FRONDA Film. Pomeje founded it in 1995. It was supposed to deal with the production of audiovisual works or advertising and promotional activities. Over time (since 2002), he began to have debts of less than millions, which he was unable to pay.
He was later replaced by the executors. Among the latter were Kamil Košina from the Prachatice Prosecutor’s Office and Bohumír Krestýn from the Šumperk Prosecutor’s Office. Their objective was to collect a debt of 7,500,000 crowns with default interest equal to 8% of this amount from 06.30.2001 until payment.
“I don’t know what exactly Jirka paid, when I saw him in Vinohrady in the last few months, this topic was not talked about at all. But since I liked him very much, I told the person to whom he supposedly owed 170,000 to bring the documents that I would pay for him. I still watch films with van Damme, where he voices Jirka, so I will send him to heaven as thanks,” said the aforementioned loan shark.

Nobody wants to talk about the debts that have accompanied the actors for decades.
“I won’t lie that this hasn’t caused me many sleepless nights,” said his ex-wife Michaela Kuklová.
Pomeje’s FRONDA Film company was eventually liquidated. From his process it emerged that the company has no assets and the liquidator does not register any creditor’s complaint. With this conclusion by František Červenka, the cessation of activity of the liquidated company was also approved. This happened on June 1, 2021, two years after the actor’s death.
His name is also found in USAP corporate records. He founded it in 1992 with the actress Nela Boudová. Here they focused on providing services for models and hostesses. The company continues to operate under Boudová’s direction without major difficulties.
But he also felt the force of his colleagues’ debts when, with the decision of the Prague Municipal Court in 2005, the property of partner Jiří Pomej was declared bankrupt.
