Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with Marta Kos, Commissioner for Enlargement of the European Commission (EC), who is on a visit to our country.
Publika.az reports that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan (MFA) released information about this.
It was reported that the issues and plans on the current cooperation agenda between Azerbaijan and the European Union (EU) were discussed at the meeting.
The importance of inter-leader contacts in strengthening relations in the current period, which is of particular importance for the development of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the EU, was noted.
In particular, the importance of further expansion of cooperation in energy security, transport routes, as well as renewable energy fields was emphasized. In addition, the importance of Azerbaijan-EU cooperation in the fight against environmental and climate changes was noted.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov also informed the other party in detail about the current situation and realities in the region during the post-conflict period.
Special satisfaction was expressed with the agreements reached during the historic meeting held in Washington last month. It was pointed out that our country, which is the initiator of the regional normalization and peace process, will continue its efforts in the direction of advancing the peace agenda.
During the meeting, views were also exchanged on other bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest.
