The Shroud of Turin in Turin, Italy, is a piece of cloth that many believe was used to cover Jesus before his crucifixion. While this is hotly debated, a scientist recently called for further testing because they believe the cloth contains traces of ancient Jerusalem.
As reported by Daily Start, recently, artificial intelligence was used on the cloth to reimagine what the “face of Jesus Christ” would look like.
An engineer from the University of Padua in Italy also analyzed DNA and found blood particles on the famous cloth that showed evidence of organ failure, trauma and disease.
Many believe that this is what happened to Jesus when he was hung on the cross. A 1988 study said that it happened in the Middle Ages, so some doubt the connection to Jesus.
That the shroud was made in 1350, while Christ’s death is said to have occurred in 33 AD. Now, independent French researcher Tristan Casabianca has cast doubt on the findings, claiming that results vary between laboratories and do not provide a definitive answer.
Some scientists agree and are now calling for further testing. A Christian researcher found traces of blood on the shroud, which they believe supports the story of Jesus’ bloody execution. They believe Jesus was nailed to the hands and feet during his crucifixion.
Scientists give new verdict on Turin Shroud believed to have been worn by Jesusdaily star Giulio Fanti, an engineer from the University of Padua, reviewed samples taken from the 1970s and said he found traces of blood particles and materials typical of ancient Jerusalem.
He said the material came from the region and Jesus was said to have been crucified on the hills outside the walls of Jerusalem.
