The Particular Jurisdiction for Peace (JEP) summoned seven retired army officials to testify, together with 3 generals, for an investigation it’s wearing out into the executions of civilians dedicated through the Military, recognized in Colombia as ‘false positives’, and different crimes dedicated within the departments of Cauca and Valle del Cauca.
Amongst the ones known as to seem are the retired generals Justo Eliseo Peña, Óscar González Peña and Leonardo Alfonso Barrera, the JEP detailed this Wednesday in a commentary.
Colonel Emiro José Barrios Jiménez and the officials will have to additionally attend the hearings, which can happen between November 18 and December 3. Edwin Javier Madroñero, Wilfredy Areiza Jaramillo and Julio César Álvarez Pedreros.
“The (Reputation) Chamber ordered the decision for the model of the seven squaddies according to the tips acquired in different complaints of Case 05,” added the JEP.
He defined that this investigation addresses violations of human rights and infractions of Global Humanitarian Legislation in the ones departments corresponding to executions of civilians, torture, sexual violence, displacement, compelled disappearances and environmental affects that happened between January 1, 1993 and December 1, 2016.
