Hollywood’s renowned director James Cameron has indicated in recent interviews that he is ready to adopt artificial intelligence (AI) to reduce the growing cost of filmmaking. However, they support its limited use.
According to the American Journal Business Insider, Cameron, speaking at Meta Technology Officer Andrew Bozworth’s podcast ‘Boys to the Future’, said that AI, especially the visual effects, could not only be a source of accelerating the world, but would also give artists a chance to focus on more creative tasks.
Cameron, who made films like tie -tank and ewatar, made it clear that his purpose is not a reduction in manpower but to make the productive process fast and effective.
According to him, filmmaking can be performed with low cost and more quality if we use technology.
Cameron added: ‘My goal was to understand this sector, I know what developers think and what is their way to develop.
‘How many resources do they need to create a new model? My goal was to try to include artificial intelligence in the work of visual effects. ‘
Cameron says that if filmmakers want to make more computer graphics films like DUNE, they will have to find ways to reduce costs without removing employees.
Generative AI can double the speed of completing a particular shot of filmmakers and artists can move on other interesting tasks.
When asked about the use of existing materials to train AI models, Cameron said, “Regulators and its supporters should focus on the difference between output (results) and input.”
“There is a lot of hesitation in the Hollywood and the entertainment industry where the content for training came from, but I think people are misunderstood it.”

Cameron said: ‘You can’t control my input, you can’t tell me what to see or where to go.
‘My input is everything I want and what is gathered in my life. Every script I wrote must be decided on how much it is different from the original material. ‘
James Cameron has also recently joined the board of the ‘AI Stabbit’ organization, a famous photo -creation platform Stable Diffusion Company.
His move makes it clear that Cameron is serious about incorporating AI into the technical fields of filmmaking. However, he also expressed concern over AI’s creativity.
According to ‘Cinema Express’, he said he was not interested in the scripts made from AI because they do not have a reflection of the emotional depth and human experience that is essential for an effective story.
In this regard, Cameron confirmed that no generative AI was used in the preparation of Evatar Three.
The film will be released on December 19, 2025 and they want the creation of story and characters to be completely the result of the human mind.
