In a discussion with Barstool Boxing ahead of his fight with Mike Perry on July 20, 2024, Paul expressed his reluctance to face the two boxers.

“There seems to be a couple of heavyweights. I think Usyk and David Benavidez are probably the two guys that are there. That’s it,” Paul told Barstool Sports.

“David Benavidez is just a monster, man. The pressure is relentless coming forward. You can’t slow him down and he just throws bombs to change positions.

“I mean, the guy is a threat. That’s why he’s my favorite fighter. But yeah, I don’t think I could fight them,” Jake Paul added.

However, Paul is still preparing to face Mike Tyson in the future, although the original date was postponed due to Tyson having health issues that would impact his training camp for the fight.
