JAKARTA – Influence Jake Paul on the boxing world is significant, regardless of whether you consider the impact positive or downright disastrous.

Jake Paul has used his natural charisma and YouTube talent to create a persona that draws people to his boxing.

Even though no one seriously considered professional boxing, thousands of fans came to watch Paul fight, if only to see him shut up.

What is a key part of Paul’s boxing gimmick is a total unwillingness to acknowledge reality.

He feels he has beaten Tommy Fury, despite clearly being outclassed and he continues to suggest he could compete with fighters such as Mike Tyson and Canelo Alvarez.

It’s all fun and games for people who actually know the sport, but there may be some maturity on the part of the former YouTuber, who this week broke character. Yes, Jake Paul named two fighters he’s afraid to fight.

Who is Jake Paul afraid of?

In a discussion with Barstool Boxing ahead of his fight with Mike Perry on July 20, 2024, Paul expressed his reluctance to face the two boxers.

“There seems to be a couple of heavyweights. I think Usyk and David Benavidez are probably the two guys that are there. That’s it,” Paul told Barstool Sports.

“David Benavidez is just a monster, man. The pressure is relentless coming forward. You can’t slow him down and he just throws bombs to change positions.

“I mean, the guy is a threat. That’s why he’s my favorite fighter. But yeah, I don’t think I could fight them,” Jake Paul added.

However, Paul is still preparing to face Mike Tyson in the future, although the original date was postponed due to Tyson having health issues that would impact his training camp for the fight.
